Ms. Spalding’s style blends jazz, pop, soul, and world music. At
age 23, Spalding became the youngest professor in the history of the Berklee
College of Music.
She has performed at the White House for President Obama on two occasions
in the last 6 months, and has a critically acclaimed debut album.
Creating a hybrid sound that incorporates bluegrass, jazz, folk and Celtic
influences, Alison Brown has achieved an international reputation as a banjo
player who pushes the instrument into new musical territory.
Brown and the talented musicians backing her on stage recently released a
new album through Compass Records, specializing in
bluegrass, acoustic and world music.
