A Christmas Carol by the Firebird Ensemble

Details
Firebird Ensemble has been described as “ambitious and eclectic” by the New York Times and has earned a reputation as one of the premier new music ensembles in the United States. Known for its virtuosic performances and wide audience appeal, Firebird Ensemble’s musical interpretations are drawn from diverse sources and genres. In this program, the Firebird Ensemble will present its own unique interpretation of the holiday classic A Christmas Carol.
The Firebird Ensemble’s concert is part of a residency project with outreach programs in the Rockport, Gloucester, and Salem schools systems. Students from Rockport and Gloucester elementary schools will attend free performances of the Firebird Ensemble’s A Christmas Carol during the morning.
Additionally, composer Jon Deak, Firebird Ensemble Director Kate Vincent, and baritone Aaron Engebreth will host a presentation of Dickens at 200 at the Rockport Public Library, School Street, Rockport at 7:30 PM.
The Firebird Ensemble concert and educational workshops in the schools are generously supported in part by the Summer Star Foundation and the Bruce J. Anderson Foundation, Inc., a supporting organization of the Boston Foundation.
