Rockport audiences packed the house last year for two stellar shows by the North shore's own Miranda Russell and her extraordinary band. A powerful and moving vocalist, Miranda's performance centers on nuanced treatments of a wide range of favorites from Joni Mitchell to Cole Porter. She “will knock your socks off – should you be wearing any this close to the beach.” (The Boston Phoenix). Her dynamic interpretation and delivery of popular songs by such luminaries as Paul Simon, Gillian Welch, and Richard Thompson have become crowd-favorites in her pop repertoire. Critics have routinely praised her gift for the American Songbook as well as her gorgeous rendition of “La Vie en Rose.” Performing several tracks from her recently released live double CD recorded at the Shalin Liu, she is a sure-bet performer with a stunning voice.
